Fun Fact: After fire burned down the wooden Polo Grounds in 1911, owner John Brush rebuilt the fourth incarnation with less flammable material like steel and concrete. One of its notable features was the upper deck frieze that was adorned with repeating crests of every city in the National League.
The NY Giants rose from the ashes along with their ballpark, winning the National League pennant in 1911 and 1912 and 1913.
Painting Detail: Printed on 13” x 19” canvas and painted using Schmincke Mussini and Marshall’s oil paints. Finer details like the upper deck frieze were made using Prismacolor pencils.
